Free Small Business Workshops Coming Up at Vol State

Small business owners, or those considering starting a new business, can tune-up their operations this summer with free workshops from the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) at Volunteer State Community College.
Human Resources Fundamentals for Small Businesses takes a look at the three key HR processes that, if not done well, will seriously handicap or destroy a business. It will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 3 p.m. Social Media for Small Businesses will show how Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking services are changing the rules of marketing and empowering businesses. That workshop will be Thursday, May 26 at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, June 1 a day-long IRS Small Business Tax Workshop will be held, conducted by an IRS trained tax professional. Topics will include: tax deposits, employment taxes, estimated taxes, credits and deductions.
Other free workshops offered this summer include: Government Contracting on Thursday, June 2 at 2 p.m.; Accounting 101 on Tuesday, June 7 at 9 a.m.; Best Legal Advice for Small Businesses on Tuesday, June 14 at 9 a.m.; and Five Steps to Marketing Success on Thursday, June 16 at 9 a.m.
