Vol State Names New Assistant VP and Assistant Police Chief

Emily Short has been named Assistant Vice President for Student Services and Enrollment Management at Volunteer State Community College. Short had been Director of Retention Support Services at Vol State. She joined the College in 1992. Short has a bachelor's degree from Belmont University and a Master in Education from Western Kentucky University.

Cynthia Strange is the new Vol State Assistant Chief of Campus Police. She most recently served as Police Officer in the Millersville, Tennessee Police Department. Strange has a Master of Criminal Justice degree from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She has experience in a collegiate setting as a police officer, detective and sergeant with the Vanderbilt University Police Department. She began her law enforcement career as a corrections officer with the Williamson County Sheriff's Department.
