Vol State has Career Classes for Workers and Employers

The challenging economic climate makes training an even more important part of the business equation. Volunteer State Community College has Business and Industry classes that can help, coming up this fall through Continuing Education.

Training Within Industry (TWI) is a program of hands-on learning and practice, teaching essential skills for supervisors, team leaders, and anyone who directs the work of others. TWI teaches the skills of job instruction, methods improvement, and leadership. Each module is presented by certified instructors using the proven TWI methodology. Upcoming sessions include Job relations, Job Instruction, Job Safety and Job Methods.

Hazardous Materials Management, Industrial Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management and TOSHA Training are just a few of the other areas of specialization in which Vol State offers courses. Quality Improvement can help any business boost the bottom line. ASQ certification review is available at Vol State, including Quality Improvement Associate Certification, Quality Engineer, Quality Technician and Quality Auditor. Vol State Business and Industry also has a full range of Six Sigma courses throughout the year.
