Vol State Continuing Education for Career and FunLearning new skills is critical for a career. Volunteer State Community College can help with non-credit classes in many different fields. And if people just want to find a new hobby, and have some fun, an evening or weekend continuing education class can provide that, as well. The fall class schedule is out now.
Continuing Education students can learn new computer skills, or take them to a new level, with Excel, Access and Word courses. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn basics can help those who are interested in using social media. Many service providers are required to have life support classes. This fall, Vol State will have basic life support and advanced cardiac life support classes, as well as advanced pediatric life support. They are available in both new and renewal versions.
For those interested in starting a new career, certified fiber optics training could be a field to consider. Business employees can tune up their skills with several levels of Six Sigma training. Employers will find an expanded number of OSHA workplace safety and health training courses, under Vol State’s designation as an OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center. OSHA is the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Fun classes this fall include sport yoga, Zumba, digital photography, dance, dog obedience and flower arranging. For a complete schedule visit www.volstate.edu/ContinuingEd and click on “Course Registration” or call 615-230-3358.
