New TSU education bachelor’s degree considered at Vol State
Tennessee State University is considering adding a new education bachelor’s degree program at Volunteer State Community College. Currently the two schools team up for a kindergarten through grade six program. The new program would have students specialize in pre-k through the third grade education. Students completing an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education at Vol State may transfer into the TSU program; students will be required to also complete the remaining general education coursework (approximately 28 hours). The TSU classes are also taught on the Vol State campus in Gallatin. An informational meeting is planned to determine interest in the new program. It will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 4 p.m. in the Annex 300 Building at Vol State in Gallatin at 1480 Nashville Pike. Take the Gap Blvd. entrance to the college and take an immediate right. The buildings across the street from the college are called the Annex buildings. For more information call 615-230-3253.
