Summer Camps for kids will feature fun and learning
Summer is a great time to be a kid. You can explore and find fun around every corner. That’s the goal of Summer Camps at Volunteer State Community College. The classes this year will include Art Safari, Backyard Wildlife, Secrets of Magic and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The summer enrichment courses are weeklong, inexpensive activities for kids from rising 6th through 8th grade. Summer sports camps will provide fun instruction for kids in grades 1 through 12.
Most of the summer enrichment courses take place on weekday mornings until noon. There will be 22 courses offered including: Acting Up-A Theatrical Experience, Living Biology, Beginning Golf, Illustrate IT!-Graphic Design, Awesome Chemistry, Sign Language, Spanish, the Write Stuff for the Creative Writer, CPR/First Aid for Family and Friends, Babysitter Certification, Small Engine Repair and the Dynamics of Flight.
The sports camps cover basketball for boys and girls, softball and baseball. Vol State coaches and experts from the area will help kids build their skills. There will be fundamental camps in all of the sports and specialty clinics in baseball hitting, baseball pitching and catching, and girl’s basketball positions of post, guard and point guard.
Summer Camps at Vol State will be held in June and July this year. The sports camps are $60 each and run for 3 or 4 days. The summer enrichment courses are $89 each for five days. Babysitter Certification and CPR are one day classes that cost $75 and $55 respectively.
