Ready to start a career in heavy equipment? We have a six-week program in partnership with, Vol State, NUCA of Middle TN NUCA of Middle TN, and Middle TN Workforce Development Academy.
Participants will receive certification training on National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum and proper OSHA certification. In addition to the NCCER certifications, participants will train and obtain certification in the operation of heavy equipment via the CAT Scholars program through simulator-based training. Upon successful completion of NCCER, OSHA, and simulator coursework participants will be assigned to employers to continue with on-the-job training and potential employment opportunities.
Tennessee has a significant demand for Heavy Equipment Operators and the average salary is $63,116.00.
Are you currently working and if so, will your work schedule allow you to attend day classes at Vol State in Gallatin from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday?
- Cohorts are limited to 30 participants.
- Multiple cohorts are being planned to take place 2-3 times per year.
- Participants must be 18 years of age at the completion of the first six weeks of training and prior to being released to on-the-job training.
- If you are a high school senior, please indicate as such so that we can assign you the proper cohort within the calendar year.
