Dr. Wendi W. Tostenson became the fifth president of Volunteer State Community College on July 1, 2024.
Vol State was officially authorized in 1969 to serve Sumner County following dedicated local civic efforts. Classes launched in the fall of 1971 with 581 students meeting in a local hotel and nearby churches. Today, the main campus spans 18 buildings, complemented by three thriving academic centers across Middle Tennessee.
With four convenient locations across Middle Tennessee, Vol State provides accessible education, personal support, and pathways to what comes next.
