Explore Your Future in Nursing!

The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Nursing is your gateway to becoming a Registered Nurse! Offered at our Gallatin, Livingston, and Springfield locations, you can join a cohort that starts each summer in Gallatin and Livingston, or in the fall at Springfield.

What’s great about this program? It’s designed to fit perfectly with university programs, so you can easily continue your education and work towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree!

If you’re looking to pursue the two-year associate degree nursing program, like Volunteer State’s Nursing A.A.S. program, make sure to enroll in the Pre-Nursing - A.S. program. Team up with an academic advisor to choose the right courses for your future nursing school!

Learn More About Our Nursing Program

Keep in mind that the Vol State Nursing A.A.S. program has limited spots, and acceptance is competitive! To apply, you need to have all general education, science, and elective courses completed or in progress, with a minimum GPA of 2.9. And don’t forget, any courses you’re currently taking must be finished before you start the nursing program! Just meeting the minimum requirements doesn’t guarantee acceptance, as we rank applicants using a point system.

Once you graduate, you’ll be ready to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a licensed Registered Nurse!

We can’t wait to see you thrive in our nursing program!
