Gaining STEAM Summer Camp

Student learning about technologyVolunteer State Community College is hosting a free week-long summer camp that will explore two exciting and in-demand career fields!

Students will have an opportunity to explore the knowledge and skills necessary to work in exciting IT fields such as cyber security, networking and systems administration, programming, and software design and development.

Additionally, students will learn about what it takes to be the expert who repairs, maintains, and designs state-of-the-art robotics and computer-aided equipment in today’s fastest-growing industry – Mechatronics.

Camps at Gallatin and Cookeville are scheduled for June 17 - 21, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The camp at Springfield is scheduled for July 22 - 25, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided at all camps.

All camps are open to students 16 – 18 years old.

a drone in the airIn conjunction with Gateway STEM Center, our STEAM Camp at Vol State Springfield offers an immersive opportunity for participant teams to design, build, and fly drones. Through engaging workshops and practical sessions, campers will learn about aerodynamics, circuitry, programming, and more, all while working towards the thrilling goal of creating a fully functional drone.

Monday, July 22nd to Thursday, July 25th
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 pm
