This policy defines the awarding of out-of-state tuition waivers to eligible students. In order to receive an out-of-state tuition waiver, the student must satisfy the criterion defined in this policy.
Athletic Out-Of-State Tuition Waiver
This waiver may be granted to student athletes participating in sanctioned sports who satisfy the general College admission requirements and maintain National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) eligibility. A total number of tuition waivers are determined based Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) rules and are awarded and distributed among the sports as determined by the Athletic Director and coaches.
Performance Out-Of-State Tuition Waiver
This waiver may be granted to students who perform a service to the institution, such as President’s Ambassadors, Pioneer Leaders and other school sponsored activities that require the student to represent Vol State. Students are reviewed by the Admissions Office and the Financial Aid Office. Students are selected and confirmed by the Vice President of Student Services. No more than four (4) Performance Out-of-State tuition waivers may be awarded per academic year.
