Earn college credit when you are home for winter break. A Winter Session class can help you keep up momentum and accelerate your graduation!
Winter Session offers a limited selection of Vol State classes in an accelerated format. Winter Session Classes are exclusively online in eLearn. from December 19, 2025 – January 14, 2026.
Be sure to purchase required course materials early so you can begin coursework right away. The classes only last four weeks, so even a short delay in getting your materials can make it hard to keep up with your coursework.

Registration
Registration for current students begins on October 20.
New student registration opens November 3. Your first step is to apply for admission.

Financial Aid
Winter Session is considered a part of the Spring 2026 semester for financial aid. Therefore, hours taken in Winter Session are combined with Spring semester credit hours to create your billing statement and financial aid award. You must be a degree seeking student at Vol State in both terms to be eligible for financial aid, including state and federal aid. If you are interested in financial aid, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (615) 230-3456 or via email at financial.aid@volstate.edu.
How To Register
- Log into My Vol State, select the “Advising & Registration” group.
- Select “Register for Classes” icon.
- Select the upcoming Spring Term (Winter Session is part of the Spring Term).
- Click the “Change” button next to the Parts of Term.
- Checkmark “Spring Term 2025 – Winter Session” to show the courses offered during Winter Session.
