Vol State soccer earned the No. 4 seed in the TCCAA Region 7 Tournament and will host a quarterfinal match this Sunday, October 25, at 3 p.m. against Roane State at Liberty Creek High School.
The Pioneers have posted a 7-5-2 record overall, 6-5-2 in the TCCAA, with one regular season match remaining, after Tuesday’s 2-0 victory at Chattanooga State. Vol State will face fifth-seeded Roane State on Sunday, with the Raiders holding a 10-7-1 overall record, 6-7-1 in league play.
The Pioneers defeated Roane State, 3-0, at home on September 5, with Reagan Hudson and Jordyn Tucker each recording a goal and an assist and Addison Huddleston adding a goal. In the second meeting on October 6, Skylar High’s equalizer in the 78th minute preserved a 1-1 draw, as Vol State played the final 26-plus minutes with only 10 players after Sophia Lawson drew a red card.
The winner of Sunday’s match will take on top-seeded and currently 16th-ranked Columbia State on the road on Wednesday, October 28.
