Associate of Applied Science

An Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Business prepares students to launch or advance a career in business. The department offers four concentrations in the “career” program degree including Accounting; Logistics; Management; and Marketing. The curriculum for the A.A.S. degree consists primarily of business courses, enabling students to develop the knowledge and skills sought by today’s employers. Students can also earn an embedded technical certificate for a rapid path to employment with all required courses also counting toward an A.A.S. degree. Technical Certificate options include Administrative Professional Technology; Entrepreneurship; and Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Associate of Science – Tennessee Transfer Pathway

Students planning to graduate and transition directly to a university can do so in an Associate of Science – Tennessee Transfer Pathway (A.S. – TTP) program. The Business Department offers five A.S. – TTP or “transfer” majors: Accounting; Business Administration; Finance; Management; and Marketing. Students in these programs take mostly general education courses and take most of their business courses at the transfer university. With a rigorous curriculum requiring numerous math and Accounting courses, students earning Vols State’s A.S. – TTP degree graduate well prepared for success at a transfer university.
