Placement Testing

  • High School GPA: If your high school GPA is a 3.6 or higher, you may not need additional placement testing. Acceptance based on high school GPA is conditional until the final sophomore GPA is posted. If the high school GPA falls under 3.6 at the end of the sophomore year, conditional acceptance to the PCMC will be revoked unless the student has sufficient placement scores (ACT or ACCUPLACER).
  • ACT: If you have already taken the ACT and meet the minimum score requirements, send a screenshot of your ACT scores to pcmc@volstate.edu. The screenshot must show your full name, your ACT composite score, and ACT sub scores. Do not submit an ACT Superscore.
  • ACCUPLACER: If you do not have a minimum 3.6 high school GPA or an acceptable ACT score, see the ACCUPLACER information below.

ACCUPLACER

Prospective PCMC students who do not have a 3.6 high school GPA or the required minimum ACT scores (English 18, Reading 19, Math 19) can take the ACCUPLACER at Vol State for free. Click on the link below for information and instructions.
