Students seeking enrollment in the Allied Health Programs requiring participation in clinical training in area hospitals and related clinics must provide evidence of having passed a 10-panel urine drug screen prior to official acceptance/enrollment in the Program. The student is responsible for any costs incurred for this screening.
Students may acquire the drug screen through any reputable laboratory, if the lab adheres to the criteria outlined below:
- Urine drug screen
- 10-panel drug screen
- Must be a "zero tolerance" drug screen
The VSCC Clinical Affiliations Coordinator has received information from one area lab/clinic that provides the drug screening at a nominal cost. We are sharing this information with students with the understanding that the student may utilize the lab of his/her choice, as long as all criteria for testing are followed.
Tri-Star Medical Group has collections sites in Gallatin, Portland and Goodlettsville. They offer all VSCC Allied Health students discount for this service.

Results of the screening should be sent to the student 3-10 days after collection of the sample. The student should submit a copy of the results to their clinical coordinator. If the report is negative, the student will be able to proceed in the program.
Students whose drug screening returns a "positive" result will no longer be eligible to for clinical participation and will be required to withdraw from the Program.
