Vol State proudly announces that Dr. Terri Day, VP for Academic Affairs, has been appointed the next President of Herkimer County Community College in NY.
Macon Bank and Trust Company Establishes Scholarship for Vol State Students
[Gallatin, TN - Jan 30, 2025] Macon Bank and Trust Company, located in Lafayette, Tennessee, established a $2,500 scholarship for Volunteer State Community College students.
“This scholarship will give opportunities to those who share the same values of work ethic and moral character that is important to our Bank,” said John West, President and CEO.
John West joined Vol State’s Foundation Board as a Trustee in 2025. Chad Coley, City Executive for the bank in the Nashville Metropolitan area, also serves as a Trustee on the Foundation’s Executive Board.

Volunteer State Community College Receives Initial Accreditation for the Mechatronics A.A.S. Program
GALLATIN (November 9, 2022) – Leaders of the Mechatronics program at Volunteer State Community College received confirmation today that full accreditation was awarded for the program for the next two years. Chair of the Mechatronics program, Tim Dean received notification today while attending the meeting held at The Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) Conference taking place in Louisville, Kentucky. ATMAE is the accrediting body for the program.
