Receiving Your Diploma

Diplomas will be mailed to the mailing address on file for graduates without holds on their accounts. Pending graduates must verify the mailing address on file is correct, resolve holds on their account (if any), and review their diploma name via an email sent by the graduation staff. Graduates with a hold on their accounts will need to contact the office that placed the hold for details. Hold information can be found in your student portal. Once the hold is resolved, the student will need to contact the Graduation Staff to request that their diploma be mailed.

See below for the approximate release date for diplomas as well as deadlines to confirm mailing address on file, review diploma name, and check hold status.

  • How to Review Diploma Name: An email with your name as it will appear on your diploma will be sent from toward the end of your graduating term. Pending graduates will be instructed to reply to that email if requesting a change to the diploma name.
  • How to Check for Holds: Log into your My Vol State account, click the My Student Records icon, then click the View My Holds icon, and enter log-in information again if prompted.
  • How to Verify Mailing Address: Login to your My Vol State account, click the My Student Records icon, then click My Student Information, enter log-in information again if prompted, click the Personal Information tab, then click View and Update Addresses and Phones. The College will use the Mailing address listed on this screen at the time of diploma distribution. If it needs to be updated, please go back to the main menu icons on your My Vol State Portal, click the Student Forms icon, and fill out the Name/Permanent Address Change form.
