Ken Weidner from Sumner County’s Emergency Management Agency and Chief John Poss from Sumner County’s Emergency Medical Services spoke at a Gallatin Chamber of Commerce breakfast. They discussed their agencies’ missions, the importance of disaster preparedness, and advancements in emergency equipment, such as drone technology and automatic CPR devices. Both emphasized collaboration with local departments to enhance service delivery across the county.
“We currently have no shortage of technicians,” Chief Poss said. “We have qualified applicants and another six people graduating from Vol State just this month.” He added, “And because of a grant, these kids can go to school and get certified for free.”
