Vol State is proud to announce that Dr. Karen Hill, Communication Department Chair, won the Communicator of the Year award by the Tennessee Communication Association! The TCA is an organization for communications scholars in the state of Tennessee that seeks to enhance and encourage communications research and education. This award is granted to an individual who has significantly contributed to the purpose of communications in Tennessee. Her outstanding service was formally recognized with an awards luncheon.
"Dr. Hill is passionate about her teaching,” stated Dr. Erin Mann, Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts, "creative in the classroom, and not afraid to hold her students to very high standards. She both shares her knowledge and seeks to learn from others as a matter of course—her dedication makes her richly deserving of this recognition from her colleagues in the TCA."
