Vol State is honored to share that Professor Amber Sullivan, Mathematics Faculty, has been nominated by the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) to join the prestigious 5th cohort of High Impact Practice (HIP) Ambassadors! This is recognition for her transformative, deeply engaging teaching, which promotes lasting student learning and directly reflects TBR’s national leadership in expanding HIPs and in being the first higher-education system to systematically track student participation in these proven methods.

Leah Frauendienst, assistant chair of mathematics/associate professor of mathematics, began her journey here as a Vol State student. After earning her master’s degree in mathematics, Frauendienst returned to Vol State, excited to give back to the establishment that shaped her higher education experience. “Vol State is where I began my higher education journey and where my career took shape, and it’s a privilege to now help students create their own paths to success,” said Frauendienst.

Vol State is proud to announce that Freda and Jonathan Pinkerton both received “Educators of the Year' awards from ISSA's (Information Systems Security Association) Middle Tennessee Chapter in Nashville.
