[Gallatin, TN - Jan 30, 2025] Macon Bank and Trust Company, located in Lafayette, Tennessee, established a $2,500 scholarship for Volunteer State Community College students.

“This scholarship will give opportunities to those who share the same values of work ethic and moral character that is important to our Bank,” said John West, President and CEO.

John West joined Vol State’s Foundation Board as a Trustee in 2025. Chad Coley, City Executive for the bank in the Nashville Metropolitan area, also serves as a Trustee on the Foundation’s Executive Board.

“Macon Bank and Trust Company is very proud of the impact that VSCC is having on our local communities.  We hope to see the VSCC graduates utilize their education to return home and further strengthen their communities,” West said.

The Vol State Foundation, a separate 501c3 non-profit of the college, makes a difference in the lives of students every day by awarding scholarships to those who might not otherwise be able to obtain a college education.
