Welcome to TGIS at Vol State!

What is TGIS at Vol State?

TGIS stands for TN Girls in STEM. TGIS at Vol State is a one-day Saturday conference for 5th-10th grade girls, featuring Keynote speaking and STEM workshops. The conference is held in October each year on the Vol State Gallatin campus, hosted by Vol State faculty members, students, and our partners in industry, organizations, and other higher education institutions.

TGIS at Vol State was first launched in October 2016, under its former name Vol State Expanding Your Horizons (EYH). The mission of TGIS at Vol State is to provide role modeling to girls and inspire them to pursue opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Our workshops feature fun and hands-on activities in a variety of areas in STEM.

Helping Girls Develop a Passion for STEM

This annual conference is made possible by the collaborative work of Vol State faculty, staff, and students, as well as industry partners. It has served hundreds of girls from nearby counties since it first started and has been growing bigger each year.

Registration is required to participate. Registration will open as we get closer to the event date.
